The bill was requested by food companies that produce frozen pizzas for schools, the salt industry and potato growers—big surprise! The real surprise is that Congress believes they can get away with calling pizza a vegetable.
While some conservatives in Congress say the federal government shouldn’t be telling our children what to eat at school, we ask: shouldn’t we as parents have a say in what our children eat at school?
